A removal company will need access to the front door of your house. We advise that you inform your neighbours that a removal vehicle will be situated outside your home for a certain period of time. If the road you live on does not have adequate parking then you may need to get a parking permit for the removal vehicle.

You should make sure that your cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge, freezer are all empty before moving them. Any large appliances should ideally be disconnected, drained and dried before being moved.

We advise you to be present when your items are being removed so that you can ensure that nothing you wish to be taken is left behind. You can also make sure that the driver has the correct destination address to take your belongings to.

You can purchase boxes from us specially designed to transport clothing. Wardrobe cartons are available which contain both an adequate drop and a pole from which to hang the clothes on the inside. This way your clothes are fully protected during transit, and shouldn't even need ironing at the other end!

Yes, packing china, ornaments and glass yourself is both time consuming and adds to the stress of the move. For a small fee, you can leave everything on the shelves and in the cupboards and the removal team will pack them safely and securely for you.

If you have items in your loft which you wish to be removed, then we can do this for you too. However, if you do wish us to do this then you must make sure:

  • the loft is adequately lighted
  • the flooring is safe
  • a fixed ladder is provided
  • it is safe to enter.

You can purchase extra insurance for your move. Check with your home insurance company as you may be covered under that policy. Please note that our insurance policy doesn't cover for flammable liquids. This is often excluded and we advise you to dispose of any flammable liquids safely before the move.
